A few years ago, I wrote a blog about the need for impact investors to re-think exits. I’m happy to see that three years later there are a lot of smart people exploring new investment structures, and the topic has become a hot one at impact investing conferences. Earlier this year, I had the good fortune to be invited to work with Diana Propper – an experienced sustainable investor – on a project to identify, analyze and ultimately publish online innovative exit structures and impact terms.
We are in the first stage of the project, which is to interview investors, entrepreneurs, advisors and other experts to map the existing universe of innovations in deal structure and terms. To date, we have interviewed almost 100 people and have started to compile and analyze our findings. If you’re interested in our progress to date, you can find a very high level summary of our initial work here.
If you’re interested in learning more about the project and/or have been involved with a deal that you think others would benefit from knowing about, please get in touch with us. We’d very much like to hear from you.
This project has been generously funded by a variety of sources reflected above, including our client Blue Haven Initiative. Thank you for allowing us to do this work!
