Soo advises private foundations, family offices, impact fund managers, and nonprofit sponsors on mission-driven investments and strategic legal structuring. Her work often involves complex cross-border transactions, as well as providing trusted counsel on SEC regulatory compliance and governance matters.
Before joining Blue Dot Advocates, Soo practiced at Sidley Austin and Jones Day, focusing on private equity and international fund formation. She advised fund managers across Asia, Europe, and the U.S. on launching and scaling private investment funds and represented both managers and investors on capital raisings, side letters, and managed accounts. In 2017, she shifted her practice toward impact investing to align her legal work with clients pursuing profit with purpose, reflecting Blue Dot’s mission to advance well-being, community, equity, and living systems.
Soo graduated cum laude from Duke University with a B.A. in Political Science and earned her J.D. from Cornell Law School. She is licensed in California and New York. Fluent in English and Korean, Soo lives in Manhattan Beach with her husband and three daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys yoga in beautiful places and biking along the beach path.
